1. Transfer any remaining files from old computers to new computer.  FAIL!  I did part of what I wanted to do, but I just got so busy once school started.  I was able to transferd all of my iTunes music that couldn’t be transferred via my iPod.
2. Buy books for Spring classes.  SUCCESS!!  I bought one of the books for LegAd from a fellow student for $45, and I ordered the other one through Half.com for $20.  My boyfriend had the book I needed for Crim Pro: Investigations, so he’s letting me borrow it.  I got the book I needed for Bio-Ethics for $10 from Amazon.  And I ordered the two books I needed for Professional Responsibility from Half.com for $45.99 and $20.49.  However, I ended up getting into Mediation, so I dropped Professional Responsibility.  I sold the one book to a classmate for $20, and I’m still trying to sell the other.  The book for Mediation is optional, so I’m not buying it.
3. Sell old law school books.  SUCCESS!!  I sold one book via Half.com in December for $70.  And I sold several to some people at school ($50, $40, $60, and $60).  I only have one casebook from the Fall semester that I haven’t sold, but I think I’ll wait to try to sell it to someone taking the class next year.
4. Finish reading current book & read one other book.  SUCCESS!!  I finished the first book on January 5th.  I finished the other on the 23rd.
5. Read Next by Michael Crighton for my Bio-Ethics class.  SUCCESS!!  I finished the book on 1/12, during the road trip my boyfriend and I took to Florida and Georgia.
6. Finish 1st draft of my article for Law Review.  SUCCESS!!  I started out on page 8 at the beginning of the month, and I hoped to get to between 18-20 pages.  I’m currently on page 30, and I’m still not finished.  I’m giving it to an editor to look over and give me some feedback.
7. Brainstorm ideas for Bio-Ethics paper.  FAIL!  I didn’t really come up with any ideas, but I’m meeting with my professor on Thursday to come up with some.
8. Write weekly reflection for Independent Study paper.  SUCCESS!!  I’ve gone to Legal Aid three times so far.  I haven’t done a lot yet, but I’ve enjoyed it so far.
9. Check Experian credit report.  SUCCESS!! For some reason, it wouldn’t let me order it online, so I had to call and order it.  I got it in the mail at the end of the month.
10. Snowflake at least $100.  SUCCESS!!  I was able to snowflake $893.49.

I think this month will continue to be really busy, but hopefully March and April will be less so.  My Bio-Ethics class will end at the end of February, so that free up some time (though I’ll miss the class).  And, once I turn in my article for Law Review, I won’t have to worry about that anymore.  Though, then it’ll be time to write papers for classes and prepare for exams.

I’m still looking for a job for the summer.  Most of the places I’ve applied to aren’t hiring.  I’m sending out some more resumes today.  Hopefully something will come up.

I spoke with my editor about the article for Law Review.  He said that my idea for the organization sounds find.  I’m going to work on re-organizing it this weekend.  It’ll probably trim some length, but will make it less redundant (there were several places that talked about the same things).  I did some research this week for a particular part of the paper that I haven’t written yet.  I need to do a little more research and then I should be mostly done with the research part.

I started my Independent Study work at Legal Aid this week.  It was so nice to be back and to see everyone.  They were all excited to see me.  I did some research and wrote a few documents.  I’m looking forward to working on that the rest of the semester.

I think I mentioned in a previous post that my boyfriend and I spent Christmas in California with his family.  We had a lot of fun.  We flew home on the 29th, and then relaxed for about a week.  Then, on the 7th, we drove down to Florida to visit his grandparents.  We then drove to Savannah on the 10th to relax and enjoy a few days checking it out.  We walked around quite a bit in spite of the rain on one of the days we were there.  We drove back on the 12th, and I’ve been mostly relaxing ever since.  Thursday evening and Friday, I basically did a whole lot of nothing (other than catching up on some t.v.).  Today, I worked on my law review article for a bit.  I’m currently on the 23rd page.  Very excited about the progress I’ve made in the last few weeks.  I’ve still got some stuff I need to add, as well as some stuff I need to research (and then add).  Then, I’ll start working on revising it.  Thankfully it’s not due until early March, so I’ve got several weeks to work on it.

1. Transfer any remaining files from old computers to new computer. I’ve had my new computer since February or March 2011, and I’ve mostly transferred everything over.  But I want to make sure I have everything.  Then, I plan to recycle them.
2. Buy books for Spring classes.  I am taking Legislative and Administrative Law (3 credits, required), Constitutional Law II (2 credits, required), Professional Responsibility (2 credits, required), Criminal Procedure: Investigations (3 credits), Bio-Ethics (2 credits), Law Review (2 credits), and Independent Study (1 credit).  I don’t need to buy a book for ConLaw because we use the same book we used for ConLaw I.  The only book I need to buy for Bio-Ethics is Michael Crighton’s Next, which I already ordered from Amazon.  And I don’t need any books for Law Review or Independent Study.  So, that just leaves me with books for LegAd, Professional Responsibility, and Criminal Procedure: Investigations.  I’m hoping to buy them used, if possible, to save some money (casebooks are expensive; most run over $130 brand new).
3. Sell old law school books.  I have some books from both Spring and Fall semesters that I want to sell.  I already sold one right before Christmas.  I have one listed online, and the others I”m hoping to sell to people at my school.

The holidays were good.  My boyfriend and I spent a week with his family over Christmas in California.  It was my first time in California, so we did a lot of touristy things, such as going to Hollywood and Disneyland.  It was a lot of fun, and it was great to meet his family.  I ended up with a cold for New Year’s Eve, so the boyfriend and I stayed home, watched movies, and went to bed shortly after midnight.  While I wish I wasn’t sick, it was a good start to the new year.
