I found your blog recently by linking through D over at Dedicated, she and I have been “blogging friends” for a few years now.
I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about your Dad’s diagnosis, I lost my Mom to Pancreatic Cancer Feb 2008, and chronicled the entire ordeal through my blog. She was diagnosied May 2007, given the standard 3-6 month outlook, and passed in 7 months. They attempted the Whipple Procedure at diagnosis, but the tumor was attached to her portal vein, so that was not an option.
Anyway – if you need to talk to someone who has walked in your shoes, feel free to email me.

Hi Beachgirl, Wanted to suggest a position for your mom, has she thought about working for Hobby Lobby? (not sure if she wanted to still do waitressing or something in that field) The hours are great, 10-8pm with Sundays off and good benefits. The workpace is not as quick as restaurants however.
Hang in there…my dad fought a courageous 2-yr battle with ca before passing on couple of years ago. Best wishes for you and family.
