Wedding Planning: Save the Dates & Food
Posted by beachgirl on 10/11/2013
We’ve gotten a few things done for the wedding the last two weeks. First, I started working on the Save the Dates. We’re making them ourselves and are pretty basic. So far I’ve done the wording, bought card stock, and ordered a leaf stamp to use on it. I still need to find a stamp pad in the right color, buy envelopes, and then print out a test version. Once we’ve done the test version and finalized the design, we’ll have to print out the final versions on the ivory card stock, cut each of those to size, cut the brown card stock to size, tape the ivory and brown card stock together, and then address all the envelopes. We’ve gotten most of the addresses we need and just need to get a few more. We also need to review the invitee list and finalize it.
The other thing we did this week was have our food tasting at our venue. We got to try several appetizers, a butternut squash soup, and several entrees (including our favorite – cheesy grits and pulled brisket). Now, we need to come up with a list of foods we like and give it to the chef. They’ll then take our list and come up with a proposed menu. Since we’re getting married in October, we want to try to have the food be very seasonal. We’re very excited to see what they come up with.
