February 11 – 17

Posted by beachgirl on 02/17/2013

Good morning everyone.  I can’t believe it’s Sunday already.  Or that the month is already more than half over.  Time sure if flying.

As I mentioned last weekend, I was meeting with students who are interested in being on the editorial board of our Law Review next year.  I met with a bunch more this past week.  It was great meeting many of them and talking to them, but it ate up a lot of my free time.  Usually, I have free time each day that I can work on school stuff, but most of that time was taken up by these meetings.  It’ll be nice to have that free time back again.  This coming week, we do the official interviews of everyone who applied for a position.  Then, on Thursday night, we’ll make the decision about who to put on the board and for which position.  Then, whoever will be taking over my position, I’ll start training them on how to do what I do.

This week, I also met with my first two clients as part of my Law & Aging class.  I was pretty nervous, but it went pretty well.  My professor helped me out where I needed it, and then gave me feedback on what I’d done well and what I need to work on.  A few of the things I was able to fix in the meeting with the second client, which I felt went much better and I was less nervous about.

Last night, D and I went out to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  We weren’t able to Thursday night, so we made up for it last night.  We went to a Japanese Hibachi place and shared some hibachi and sushi.  It was yummy!  And we sat at a table with a family who had 3 kids (aged 2 to 8), and none of them had been before.  They were really cute to watch as the chef was doing their show.  Definitely a very enjoyable night.

How exciting to be able to work with real clients. Sounds like you are still as busy as every.
