I'm engaged!

On December 21st, my boyfriend (now fiance) proposed to me.  I didn’t post before because we were waiting until we had told all of our family and close friends.  With Christmas and everyone traveling, it took a few days to reach everyone.  But we were able to finish telling everyone today, so now we can share it with everyone.

The proposal was really sweet.  We were in Asheville for a holiday party.  While walking around, he told me he had a present for me.  When I opened it, there was a picture frame with a number of dates from our relationship.  The last one said “12/21/2012 I asked you to marry me”.  I got teary and looked up.  He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.  I nodded because I couldn’t say anything.  We then hugged.  The ring is beautiful.  It’s a platinum band with three blue sapphires.  He had already picked it out when he asked what kind of ring I’d want, and I pretty much described it.  I love it!

I’m still getting used to calling him my fiance, but it does sound rather nice.
